Reader’s P.O.V
The familiar hum of the air conditioner rang in your ears as you laid on your bed blankly staring at the ceiling. You can’t help but just feel guilty for everything that happened before retrieving your eye ability. The fire spread across the old wood planks of your home so quickly that you didn't even have time to process anything through your mind before you jumped out the window to save yourself, only to wake up in a hospital bed the following morning to discover that your family was asleep during the fire and didn't make it out alive.
It’s been five years since that tragic moment, yet you still remember the smell and sight of the burning flames and the fear that was surrounding every inch of you. Ever since I was let out of the hospital, I was immediately put in an orphanage, which I ran away from shortly afterwards. I left the orphanage empty handed- no food, water, supplies, nothing. Everything that happened afterwards was a surreal blur in my mind, but all I recall is blacking out and finding my head resting on Kano’s lap on the bench in the middle of a public park.
A gentle knock on your closed door snapped you out of your maze of thoughts. “[Y/n], are you in there?” Seto faintly asked from behind my closed door. You heavily sighed, too tired to even give a simple response. “Yeah, I’m here.” The knob turned and the door creaked open as Seto stepped into your room and pushed the door closed behind him. You sat up and turned on your phone to reveal the time before saying anything. 12:15 a.m.
“Seto, didn’t you leave an hour ago with the rest of the group for the night fair?” you asked as Seto sat down on the bed beside you. “Yeah, but I figured I should just come back here considering you’re in the den by yourself.” He sighed. “Well, I’m not doing anything interesting at all, so your coming back was pointless.” You faintly smiled.
“Pointless!? Nonsense.” He grinned. “I actually think you’re an awesome person, you know that right?”
You faked an arrogant laugh. “Haha- no, I’m not.”
“[Y/n], please stop pitying yourself. We all know it’s true.” Seto smirked. Your only response was to blush.
“Anyways, what would you like to do until everyone else gets back from the fair? Checkers? Tea? A movie-“
“Sleep.” You flatly answered. “Oh so I see how it is, you don’t wanna have fun with Seto here? Fine then.” He jokingly scoffed with a smile. You faintly giggled and gazed down at the carpet while fiddling with your fingers. “But uh, I really am tired so I think I should sleep now.” By sleep, I mean stay on my phone for the rest of the night until I eventually drift away without realizing. Seto stretched out his arms as he sat up from my bed. “Alright, I’ll be in the main room if you need anything.” He flashed a smile at me before flicking off my lights and shutting the door closed behind him as he left.
---
You fluttered your eyes open only half an hour later after falling asleep to the annoying muffles of voices of everyone coming from the main room. Silently growling under your breath, you tried shutting out the voices out of your mind as an attempt to try falling back asleep. While you were finally about to drift away after a majority of the talking came to an end, you picked up on a conversation that seemed to be held right out in the hallway.
“Aw, that’s cute. Kano, you probably know who you wanna marry now.”
“S-Seto! Shut up, will ya!?”
“Fine, fine. ‘Date,’ is that a better word?”
“Argh- NONE OF THOSE!”
“You’re blushing!”
“You’re acting immature, ya know”
“I’m fine with that. Anyways, you gotta confess to [Y/n] sooner or later..”

'Another boring day.' you thought, sighing as you ran a hand through your messy (h/c) locks, eyes still closed as you refused to get up for the day, just enjoying the silence and the sunlight shining into your room from your slightly opened curtains.
You laid there with your eyes closed, basking in the sunlight, only to open them as you heard a light knock at the door a few minutes later, someone mumbling 'i'm coming in' before the door slowly opened. Kido's head poked out from behind your now opened door, dark eyes looking into your (e/c) ones, a small smile on her face as she

"Shūya-kun! Come back here!"
The cat-faced male chuckled as you chased him from behind. He showed his tongue and then continued to run from you.
"Can't catch me, ______! You're so slow~"
You stopped for a while and panted, cursing your legs and stamina for having such low strength. Your friend named Kano Shūya saw you stop and he stopped as well, a smile on his face.
"What's wrong, ______? Tired already?"
He sighed as he went to you and led you under a tree where you both sat down. You caught your breath as you sat down, your heart rate returning to its normal beat.
"Damn you Shūya

Where did I come from?
What do I look like?
Nobody knows.
I hummed as I walked through the silent town in the middle of the night. It’s always so dark. The empty streets were only lightened by the dim streetlight. No matter how long I walked, I would never meet anyone nor would they know who I was.
That’s right, I am the Dream-Eating Monochrome Baku
My eyes caught something different. There were a window which lightened by a lamp inside. So someone was still up this late? It’s time to get to work~
I jumped to the second storey window and just my luck, there was a young lady
